Luc Nam recognised as new-style rural district
After 13 years building new-style rural areas, all of the 23 communes in the district have met the new style rural standards including 3 advanced new-style rural communes and 2 towns meeting standards of civilized urban areas.

Since 2011, the district has mobilised over 1.463 trillion VND (59.2 million USD) to implement the criteria of building new-style rural areas. Particularly, nearly 600 km of rural traffic roads have been concreted and upgraded.
The school facilities have been well-conditioned meeting the learning needs. All of the 248 villages have cultural houses, venues for community activities, sports areas and playgrounds at an average area from 300 square metre.
Agricultural production has been restructured towards effective and sustainable development. The localities have established the concentrated agricultural production areas based on the planning and advantages of each area.
A number of branded farm products have gained consumer trust such as custard apple, longan, yellow-flower tea and Bao Son pineapple. The district has 8 industrial clusters with the total land area of over 381 hectares.
The district’s per capita income reached 55.3 million VND (2,238 USD) per year. Luc Nam district was recognised as a new-style rural district on 1 November 2024 by the Prime Minister (1 year ahead the plan).
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong urged the party committee, government and people of Luc Nam district to continue promoting the achievements while surmounting the shortcomings and difficulties, effectively exploiting the potentials and advantages of the locality, striving to build up an advanced new-style rural district in 2026-2030 period.

On this occasion, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep gave the certificate recognising the new-style rural district and 1 billion VND (40,774 USD) reward to the officials and people of Luc Nam district.
Besides, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificate of merit to 21 collectives, 14 individuals and households in Luc Nam district gaining outstanding achievements in building new-style rural areas.
The participants also enjoyed an art programme themed “Luc Nam- the innovated homeland” at the event.
