National Youth Chess Championship – Vietcombank Cup: Bac Giang win 17 medals

(BGO) – The National Youth Chess Championship 2019 took place at Hanoi Quan Ngua Sports Palace from June 29 to July 10, drawing more than 1,200  young chess players from 43 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide as well as members of Vietnam Chess Federation (chess clubs and training centres).

The event featured several contents of men’s and women’s blitz chess, rapid chess, standard chess and traditional chess in various age groups of 6,7, 9, 11, 13,15,17 and 20.

41 chess players in Bac Giang team competed in almost all age groups and contents in the championship.

Thanks to a dense force of well trained athletes, the young members in Bac Giang team excellently competed at the event and won 3 gold, 2 silver and 12 bronze medals.

The gold medals were awarded to U11 team of Binh Vy and Thuy Linh in rapid chess, U17 team of Ha Anh and Diep Anh in traditional chess and Ha Anh in U17 individual traditional chess.
