Specifically, the Festival will be held in the Northern Province of Quang Ninh and some other locations in mid-December 2022.

The 5,000-seat gymnasium in Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh is expected to be the venue for the opening ceremony of the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022.

Accordingly, there will be 43 sporting events including Athletics, Water Sports, Boat Racing, Football, Wrestling, Shooting, Archery, Weightlifting, Judo, Taekwondo, Karate, Wushu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Fencing, Badminton, Sepak Takraw, Tennis, Volleyball and Basketball.

The festival will be held mainly in Quang Ninh and some other locations such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh and Thanh Hoa.

Through the Festival, experts will comprehensively assess the quality of sports movements in the country. In addition, relevant parties promptly discovered and planned to train and foster the force of athletes in preparation for the 32nd SEA Games in 2023, the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in 2024 and the 20th Asian Games in 2026.
