Opportunity for rooftop solar power development in Bac Giang
BAC GIANG - Bac Giang has a lot of potential for developing rooftop solar power (RSP). In the past, it was difficult to develop this energy source. Now there are many mechanisms and policies to support and encourage the development of self-produced and self-consumed RSP.
According to statistics, in the province, there are about 700 organizations and individuals installing RSP with a total capacity of about 80 MWp.
The Department of Industry and Trade coordinates with relevant units to survey the situation of using renewable energy at Crystal Martin Company Limited (Vietnam). |
In 2024, the average electricity output from this source hit nearly 800,000 kWh per month with a pre-tax amount of about 2 billion VND (about 8,400 USD).
The installation of solar power helped reduce overload of the national grid, save electricity and protect the environment.
According to the provincial planning for 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, Bac Giang will develop 72 more industrial clusters, 33 industrial parks together with many offices and schools, so there is a large room for developing renewable energy in the area.
On the other hand, the demand for electricity for production and daily life is increasing, so using grid electricity from renewable energy is an extremely necessary solution to ensure stable power supply and reduce the load on the national grid.
To encourage organizations and individuals to install renewable energy, on October 22, 2024, the Government issued Decree No. 135/2024/ND-CP (Decree 135) stipulating mechanisms and policies to encourage the development of self-produced and self-consumed renewable energy.
This policy has encouraged organizations and individuals to invest in developing renewable energy to ensure safe and stable electricity supply for production, business and daily life; contributing to reducing costs, ensuring the goal of developing green and sustainable energy.
Typical policies and mechanism include exemption from electricity operating licenses and unlimited installed capacity in certain cases, preferential tax policies and simplified administrative procedures among others.
As of December 24, the Department of Industry and Trade has granted registration certificates for developing self-produced and self-consumed RSP to 4 enterprises (New Wing Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd. (Bac Giang); Fulian Precision Technology Component Co., Ltd.; Bedra Vietnam Alloy Materials Co., Ltd., Fuyu Precision Technology Co., Ltd.) with a total installed capacity of nearly 27,000 kW.
The Department is currently guiding a number of other units to complete their documents and wait for the issuance of certificates.
New Wing Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd. (Bac Giang) in Van Trung Industrial Park (Viet Yen township) started operating in the province since 2016, specializing in manufacturing headphones, connecting wires and other electronic products with a scale of more than 225 million products per year.
In recent years, the company has always paid attention to green production associated with environmental protection. The company has invested in building an advanced wastewater treatment system; improving the green, clean and beautiful environmental landscape.
The installation of solar power systems is also included into the implementation plan to meet the green production target. Recently, the company has completed the registration procedure for developing RSP with a capacity of 9,800 kW.
The company representative said that the procedure is quite simple, the processing time is quick (10 days) and there are no fees. New Wing Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd also commits to ensuring construction safety, fire prevention and fighting, environmental protection without using used photovoltaic panels or DC-AC converters.
In early December 2024, Crystal Martin Company Limited (Vietnam) sent a document to the Department of Industry and Trade requesting support and guidance on necessary procedures to continue developing renewable energy (previously, the Company had installed solar power).
The Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with relevant units to organize a working session, survey the situation of solar power use of the enterprise and provide guidance on the implementation of necessary procedures.
Nguyen Duc Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that Bac Giang province strives to have 50% of office buildings and 50% of houses develop self-produced and self-consumed renewable energy by 2030.
