Over 1,700 Bac Giang’s labourers work in RoK

BAC GIANG - Currently, more than 1,700 labourers from Bac Giang province are working in the Republic of Korea (RoK) earning an average income from 25 to 30 million VND (1,035 USD to 1,242 USD) per month.

The Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) has provided guidance and received applications for going to work in RoK in manufacturing industry under the EPS programme (Korean Employment Permit System) in 2023.

The officials of DOLISA and provincial Employment Service Center receive applications for working in RoK.

DOLISA and the provincial Employment Service Center in Tho Xuong ward, Bac Giang city arranged 12 officials at the Center to receive information, provide guidance and directly answer the questions of labourers applying for going to work in RoK.

The Center received 313 applications in the entire province. The applicants had passed the Korean language and skill tests in May and June 2023 to work overseas under EPS.

These applications will be sent to the Center of Overseas Labour (the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs) for Korean enterprises to choose suitable candidates.

According to DOLISA, 350 labourers from the province have gone to work in RoK since early this year, accounting for over 30 percent of the total labourers working abroad. Currently, more than 1,700 labourers from Bac Giang province are working in RoK earning an average income from 25 to 30 million VND (1,035 USD to 1,242 USD) per month. This is considered a potential market for labourers of Bac Giang province.
