Updated: 15:24, 01/11/2021
Passengers can enjoy free train rides on Hanoi’s metro line 2A, also known as Cat Linh-Ha Dong, for the first 15 days before it enters into commercial service.

Director of the Hanoi Transport Department Vu Van Vien said after receiving the project from the Ministry of Transport, the department will start operating the line immediately.

Last week, a state council on inspecting construction works agreed to approve the Cat Linh-Ha Dong project, the final step before the line can be put into service.

Vien said Hanoi is fully prepared for operating the line.

The fares are expected to start at VND7,000 (US$0.31) for the shortest distance, while the maximum cost, to ride the entire line between Yen Nghia Station and Cat Linh Station, will be VND15,000 (US$0.65).

Commuters can enjoy unlimited rides in a single day at VND30,000 (US$1.31) while a monthly pass will cost VND200,000 (US$8.72), with a 50% reduction in price for students and workers at industrial parks.
