Portraits of Vietnamese heroic mothers exhibited in Hue
The event is among a series of activities held under the framework of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019. It is also held to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2019).

Through her strokes, female painter Dang Ai Viet not only depicted the portraits of Vietnamese heroic mothers, but also told the stories of the pain, losses and silent contributions of those who have devoted themselves to the national independence and reunification.
The exhibits were selected from among Viet’s collection of nearly 1,700 paintings of Vietnamese heroic mothers, which have been portrayed by the painter over the past eight years during her trips across the country.
Dang Ai Viet, 71, was born in Tien Giang province. She is a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and a former lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts.
The exhibition will run until May 15 at Ho Chi Minh Museum’s chapter in Thua Thien - Hue, 7 Le Loi street, Vinh Ninh ward, Hue city.
