Programme highlights Cor ethnic group’s culture

A programme, bringing to the public the opportunity to discover and experience the traditional culture of the Cor people from the Bac village, Tra Son commune, Tra Bong district, Quang Ngai province, was organised in Da Nang Museum, on July 5.

According to Phan Cong Hai, Deputy Director of Da Nang Museum, the programme is one of a series of activities to serve people and visitors when visiting Da Nang city during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2019.

The programme aims to help tourists, especially the young generation and the people of Da Nang city, better understand the unique culture, customs and festivals of the Vietnamese peoples. Since then, everyone has joined hands to contribute to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Vietnam in the context of integration, he added.

The Cor artisans and artists performed gong duo in combination with folk performances and traditional dance.

Through the performances, the mountain and forest sounds, expressing their strength and martial spirit while proudly promoting the human values and the traditional culture of Cor people, have been reenacted in Da Nang Museum.

The performance of the Ca Dau dance and gongs in festivals, folk songs and knitting craft of the Cor people attracted a large number of students, local people and visitors.
