RoK’s LS Group to sponsor 2019 V-League 2

The Republic of Korea (RoK)’s LS Group – a manufacturer of electrical equipment, electronics, energy, and materials – will be a major sponsor of the Vietnamese National Football First League (V-League 2) 2019.

The Vietnam Professional Football JSC (VPF) announced in Hanoi on April 17 that the competition will start on April 5 and last until September 2019. The 12 teams competing are An Giang, Long An, Binh Dinh, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Binh Phuoc, Pho Hien, Hue, Phu Dong, Dak Lak, XM Fico Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, and XSKT Can Tho.

The winner will receive 1 billion VND (43,500 USD) and be eligible to advance to the V-League 2020. The runner-up will be awarded 500 million VND and compete with the third place team to win a ticket to the V-League 2020.

Speaking at the event, Director of LS Group Lee Jong-yeol said that Vietnamese football has reaped many successes under the direction of coach Park Hang-seo over the past years, thus creating a driving force for Korean investors, including LS Group, to develop the industry.

He expressed hope that Vietnam will find more young talents via the tournament.

On the occasion, the VPF also announced that the Ha Giang Gold Mining JSC will partner with V-League 2019 tournaments.
