Sea festival hopes to make Sam Son an attractive destination this summer

The Sam Son Sea Festival 2023 will feature various activities, aiming to make Sam Son city an attractive destination for tourists this summer.

This was announced at a press conference held by the Sam Son city People’s Committee on April 12 to introduce the festival.

The festival will kick off on April 22 with a colourful art programme and a low-range firework display.

Following the opening ceremony, the event will include a street carnival, a traditional cake festival, and a whale worshipping festival.

There are also exciting sporting events, such as a golf tournament, a boat race, a marathon race, a table tennis competition, and a badminton competition.

To prepare for the five-month festival, the local authorities have promulgated regulations on managing tourism business activities while strengthening inspections to handle legal violations in tourism.

In 2022, Sam Son city welcomed 7.05 million visitors, accounting for 70% of the total number of holidaymakers to Thanh Hoa province, and earned more than 14.1 trillion VND in tourism revenue.
