Security collectives, individuals lauded for contributions to DPRK-USA summit

The Ministry of Public Security on March 5 granted certificates of merit to 33 collectives and 55 individuals for outstanding performances in ensuring security for the second DPRK-USA summit, which was held in Hanoi on February 27-28.

Minister of Public Security Gen. To Lam lauded the efforts of units from the central to local levels in strictly following the Party and Government’s directions, as well as orders from the ministry’s leaders.

With just a short period to make preparations, the units fulfilled all tasks assigned by the Party and State, he affirmed.

To that end, the ministry received close coordination from other ministries, sectors, and localities, especially the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as support from the public, he added.

The two-day summit drew special attention from domestic and foreign media, with the participation of 2,600 foreign reporters from 281 news agencies, together with hundreds of domestic reporters.
