Sin Suoi Ho Village honoured by ASEAN Community Tourism Award

Sin Suoi Ho Commune, Phong Tho District, Lai Chau Province, held a ceremony on April 15 to announce Sin Suoi Ho Village as the winner of the ASEAN Community Tourism Award.

Sin Suoi Ho Village, Sin Suoi Ho Commune, Phong Tho District, Lai Chau Province, is home to the H'Mong ethnic group. It has a fresh climate all year round, a diverse and rich habitat system, and friendly and hospitable people who actively protect the environment and nature.

The ASEAN Community Tourism Award certificate is presented to the representative of Sin Suoi Ho Village.

People in Sin Suoi Ho Village mainly live on agricultural production, including cardamom, fruit trees, livestock and poultry, and orchids, as well as providing tourism services.

In June 2015, Sin Suoi Ho Village, Sin Suoi Ho Commune, Phong Tho District, was recognised by the People's Committee of Lai Chau Province as a provincial community-based tourist destination.

In 2018, the scenic relic "Heart waterfall" in Sin Suoi Ho Commune was ranked as a provincial relic. It was recognised by the Vietnam Tourism Association as one of the four most attractive community-based tourist attractions in Vietnam in 2020.

On February 5, 2023, at the International Tourism Fair Forum in the city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, the community tourist site of Sin Suoi Ho Village was honoured by ASEAN as an attractive community tourism destination in 2022.

Currently, the Sin Suoi Ho community tourism village has 20 households participating in homestay and bungalow services and six catering service households, with one cooperative welcoming and serving tourists with a capacity of over 300 visitors every day.

From 2015 up to now, on average, each year the community tourist attraction in Sin Suoi Ho Village welcomes over 20,000 domestic and international tourists to visit.

Total annual revenue from tourism and trade of orchids for tourists averages over 3 billion VND, the average income per person reaches over 20 million VND per person per year.

Folk singing festival of Luc Ngan’s ethnic groups proposed to be intangible cultural heritage
(BGO) – The Department of Science and Technology has had a working session and surveyed condition to propose science and technology task at the provincial level. It aimed to make proposal to recognize the Folk singing festival of Luc Ngan’s ethnic groups as intangible cultural heritage starting from 2024.
Developing cultural industries from heritage resources
