Spring Press Festival held nationwide

Hundreds of publications of newspapers, magazines, newsletters and special editions of central and local press agencies to welcome Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival are being introduced to the public at Spring Press Festival, which kicked off at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square in Tuyen Quang Province on January 16.

An exhibition of 59 photos praising the land, people and socio-economic development of Tuyen Quang Province also opened on the occasion.

At the opening ceremony, the organising board announced the launch of the 8th National Press Prize on Party building and the 5th Tuyen Quang Provincial Press Awards.

Spring Press Festival was also held yesterday at Hai Phu Library in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province, by the provincial Journalists Association, Phu Yen Newspaper, and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The event displays more than 600 publications by central press agencies, including Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, and local newspapers.

The exhibits also include a selection of 500 books on various topics such as studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; the 93-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam; the country’s sea and islands; and spring festivals.

Similar press festivals were also organised in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, and Quang Binh.
