Students of Thang town secondary school win first prize at 2024 National Robotics Innovation Competition
BAC GIANG- According to the leader of Thang town secondary school in Hiep Hoa district, northern province of Bac Giang, 2 students of the school including Nguyen Minh Nhat (class 7A1) and Dao Quang Hai (class 7A2) won first prize at the 2024 National Robotics Innovation Competition.
The final round was organised at Newton high school (Hanoi) on November 30 by the Center for Science, Technology and Young Talent Development (Cytast, under the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYUCC)) in collaboration with STEM-Robotics Training Center (VietRobot).

Thang town secondary school, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province sent 2 teams to compete against other 78 teams nationwide. Particularly, the first team including Nguyen Minh Nhat, class 7A1 and Dao Quang Hai, class 7A2 won first prize while the second team including Hoang Phu Khang, class 7A2 and Ngo Van Phu, class 8A1 were ranked 9th in northern region.
At the finale, the teams in secondary school category competed under the theme “Robots travel the space” when they had to run robots automatically to conquer challenges on the sand table to show clearly the students’ robot programming and design abilities.
The students not only applied knowledge in practice but they also had to analyse and process complicated information from the environment including light, physical and technical elements to seek optimal solutions in a short period of time.
With their creativity, skillfulness and strong competitive spirit, Nguyen Minh Nhat and Dao Quang Hai topped the ranking with total 1,205 points and became the champions in secondary category at the 2024 National Robotics Innovation Competition.
Nguyen Minh Nhat and Dao Quang Hai were awarded certificate of merit by the Executive Committee of the HCYUCC and certificate of the Organising Board in line with a reward in cash. Hoang Phu Khang and Ngo Van Phu won prospect award.
