Thang Long Citadel hosts Mid-autumn festival activities for students

A range of activities will be held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi from September 19 to 23, providing students with an opportunity to enjoy the traditional Mid-autumn festival to the fullest.

Children attending the festival are invited to play folk games and kites, try their hands at making traditional masks and to he (toy figurines), and fun water puppetry shows.

In addition, historians and artisans will be invited to the festival to hold discussions on topics such as paper toys, heritage education and environmental protection.

A space will be set up to display photos and documents showing how people in the past celebrated the Mid-autumn festival.

Last year’s Mid-autumn Festival attracted more than 18,000 children to the site.

The event is one of a series of programmes hosted by the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre over recent years to popularise heritage education among students.

In 2017 alone, such programmes benefited more than 2,600 secondary students and 1,300 elementary students in Hanoi.

(BGO) - The “Mid-Autumn Festival for Children - Wheel of Dream” programme was jointly held on September 16 in Phuc Hoa Secondary School (Tan Yen district) by the Bac Giang provincial Red Cross Society, Bac Giang Blood Club, Vietnam Sunflower Charity Club, Violet Rose Charity Club, Department of Education and  Training, district Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Phuc Hoa Secondary School.

(BGO) – Various activities will be launched to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival 2018 by the Councils of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation (Pioneer Organisation) in Bac Giang province, districts and city in 100 percent of school pioneer unions and divisions of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (Youth Union) in the residential areas from the 12th to 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar targetting at a joyful, safe, practical and meaningful event.
