Three A prizes awarded at ethnic traditional costume performance contest in Bac Giang
BAC GIANG - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DoCST) on August 22 launched the first traditional costume performance contest of ethnic minorities in Bac Giang province in 2024.
The contest attracted more than 130 contestants from 5 districts with a large ethnic minority population of Son Dong, Luc Ngan, Luc Nam, Yen The and Lang Giang.

The contestants aged from 16 to 28 were ethnic minorities living, studying, and working in the province. Each group performed traditional costumes of 2 to 5 ethnic minorities with various themes of everyday costumes, festivals, and weddings accompanied by music and commentary.
According to the judges, many outstanding performances were well-invested, elaborately staged with beautiful costumes, confident catwalk and attractive explanations that impressed the audience, such as: "Red Dao wedding ceremony", "Spinning silk, weaving fabric" of Luc Ngan district; "Thanh Phan Dao ethnic wedding ceremony" of Son Dong district...

The Organizing Committee awarded 14 A prizes, 13 B prizes and 8 C prizes to the delegation and individual performances. Of which, three A prizes went to the delegations from the districts of Luc Nam, Luc Ngan and Son Dong while a Special prize was awarded to the performance "Dao Thanh Phan ethnic wedding ceremony" of Son Dong district.
The contestant Chu Thi Nhat Lan of Luc Ngan district with Nung ethnic costume received impressive performance award.
On this occasion, the Provincial Museum organized an exhibition of traditional cultural heritage documents of the Dao and Hoa ethnic groups in Bac Giang province.
