Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court congratulated the 19th Party Congress of Bac Giang province for 2020-2025 tenure.

- Bac Giang successfully organized the party congress at all levels, the 19th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure and the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2020-2025 period. The success of the party congress at all levels formed an important basis for the province’s development in coming period. Right after the Congress, the party committees at all levels have concentrated on disseminating the Resolution to the cadres, party members and the grassroots and promoting the strength of the entire political system and the people’s solidarity bloc to fulfill the targets and duties set out at the congress.

- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited Bac Giang province and cut the ribbon for the first trucks of lychee to be delivered to domestic and foreign markets. At the meeting with the key provincial leaders, the Prime Minister highly spoke on the achievements of Bac Giang province and opened up many big issues in socio-economic development. The Prime Minister agreed the investment policy for 2 projects of Viet Yen golf court and Bac Giang golf court and resorts and urged the related ministries to finalize procedures for approving the investment policy. The Ministry of Transportation was requested to allocate fund for construction of Cam Ly bridge and collaborate to recommend the financing arrangements to improve the national highway No 31 and 37, the Km13-Km46 section and broaden Xuong Giang and Nhu Nguyet bridges.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Hai as authorized by the Prime Minister presented the certificate recognizing the Xuong Giang Victory location as a special national relic site to the representative of the provincial Cultural Department (in January 2020).

- Bac Giang is a highlight in economic recovery and growth. The province’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate ranked top nationwide at 13.02 percent, labour productivity increased by 9.9 percent reaching nearly 110 million VND (474,6 USD) and GRDP per capital hit 2,900 USD, up 14.2 percent against 2019.

- The entire political system made efforts for the Covid-19 fight. With comprehensive solutions, the province effectively controlled the pandemic especially good control of the outbreak in Yen Dinh commune, Son Dong district to prevent spread of the infection in the community.

- Tan Yen district and 27 communes met the standards of new-style rural areas. To date, Bac Giang has 3 districts including Viet Yen, Lang Giang and Tan Yen and 124 communes meeting standards of new-style rural areas. Viet Yen district and Ngo Van Son, General Director of Lam Son Construction and Trading Company Limited were awarded the title of “Labour Hero in Doi moi (reform) period” by the State President.

- Farm production gained comprehensive results affirming its role as the pillar of the economy. The production value leaped to 36.5 trillion VND (1.6 billion USD), up 6.7 percent. This is the first time Bac Giang’s lychee has been exported to Japanese market and pomelo penetrated Russian market.

- Many key construction works have been put into use such as Hanoi belt road No 4 connecting Hiep Hoa and Viet Yen districts and overpass of the National Highway No 1 linking Belt road No 4 and the road inside Quang Chau industrial park. The overpasses of Xuong Giang street and 295B road and Ben Huong bridge fully linking the belt road of Bac Giang city have been completed providing a driving force for urban and socio-economic development.

- The provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to receive the recognition title of national special relic of Xuong Giang Victory Relic Site in Bac Giang city. The National Council for Cultural Heritage voted to approve the proposal for requesting the Prime Minister to recognize Hiep Hoa Safety Zone as a national special relic site and recognize the cửa võng (the wooden door decorating an altar) in Tho Ha communal house in Van Ha commune, Viet Yen district as a national treasure.

- 2020 is the first year the province host 6 national-level sport events including the National Youth Chinese Chess Championship, National Badminton Tournament, National Youth Volleyball League, National Traditional Wrestling Championship, National Badminton League and National Team Chess Tournament. Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh won 4 gold medals at the 2020 National Track and Field Championship and broke the 17-year record at 10,000 metre category.

- The national defense and security have been implemented comprehensively and synchronously. The political security and social order have been secured. The provincial Publicity Department promptly finished deploying full-time police officers to all of the communes and towns in the province, which was praised by the Ministry of Public Security.
