Minister Nguyen Van The asked the transport sector to ensure the smooth transportation and circulation of goods to pandemic-affected provinces.

The Directorate for the Roads of Vietnam said there was no serious traffic congestion at quarantine checkpoints on national highways and routes to Ho Chi Minh City on July 22 and 23.

There was also no traffic jam at quarantine checkpoints in Hanoi and Hai Phong and no serious congestion on a nationwide scale.

In addition, 23 BOT toll booths have suspended toll collections to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, the traffic situation in the city and at gateways is stable with a reduction of 70% in the volume of vehicles while the volume of goods through inland waterway ports decreased by 1-2%.

The capital city also reported a stable traffic situation during recent days. Hanoi also asked localities to be ready to receive residents returning from pandemic-hit areas through Noi Bai International Airport and arrange vehicles to pick them up.

Minister Nguyen Van The asked the transport sector to ensure the smooth transportation and circulation of goods to pandemic-affected provinces while quickly granting “green line” codes to eligible enterprises and vehicles for convenient transportation.
