Unemployment Insurance Fund provides over VND10 billion to 3,570 beneficiaries

The Unemployment Insurance Fund has spent over VND10 billion (over US$440,000) to provide for 3,570 unemployed workers following one day of its implementation as the policy in support of workers hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Social Insurance, on October 1, on the first day of the implementation of Resolution No.116/NQ-CP and Decision No.28/QĐ-TTg on supporting employees and employers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, over VND10.3 trillion was sent to 3,570 workers in 20 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Panko Tam Thang Company in Quang Nam province is entitled to receive a reduction in their contributions of Unemployment Insurance Fund worth VND3.6 billion.

In addition, as many as 137,826 employers received a reduction in their contributions of Unemployment Insurance Fund from 1% to 0% for a 12-month period worth nearly VND3.47 trillion.

In Hanoi, more than 83,000 employers with more than 1.48 million workers are eligible to get support under Resolution 116.

More than 83,000 Hanoi employers are estimated to receive over VND1.18 trillion as reduction in contributions to the Unemployment Insurance Fund while over VND4.2 trillion is expected to be provided for more than 1.6 unemployed workers in Hanoi.

The Vietnam Social Insurance has set the target of completing financial supports for about 386,000 employers by October 5 and for unemployed workers by the end of October this year.
