Vietnam, Italy cooperate to promote green agriculture

Country Managing Director at Eni Vietnam BV Alessandro Gelmetti said that the signed MoU is expected to contribute to Vietnam’s efforts to reduce emissions by boosting the sustainable development of forests and emission-reducing agricultural activities. Eni guarantees it will assist Vietnam both financially and technically in long-term projects to help achieve Vietnam’s goals, he noted.
“Italy is proud to be a strategic partner of Vietnam and 2023 is also the year Italy and Vietnam celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations. With this MoU, Eni can cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam to conduct activities on energy as well as decarbonising to combat climate change,” said Alessandro.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep appreciated the signing of the MoU on cooperation between the Ministry and Eni. He expressed his belief that the MoU will contribute to fostering public-private partnership to develop a green, sustainable and low-emission agriculture.
Ambassador Antonio Alessandro said that the signing of the document is an important step to further promote cooperation between the two countries.
