The 2016 China-Vietnam international trade fair features over 1,200 booths.

The annual event, held sequentially in Vietnam’s Lao Cai province and China’s Hekou town, is part of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s national trade promotion programme, which is of significance to promoting co-operation, economic development, trade, tourism and services between the two countries as well as between their localities.

Promoting their brands at the fair, companies from Thailand, the Republic of Korrea, Malaysia, Hong Kong (China), China and Vietnam, among others, are focusing on showcasing and advertising potential products with advantages for export, including farm products, seafood, agricultural machinery, fine arts and handicraft items, woodstuff and fertiliser.

A conference on investment, trade and tourism promotion and the signing of economic and trade contracts between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises are also under the framework of the nine-day event.

Accordingly, both sides have signed 40 economic pacts worth nearly US$600 million so far at the fair.
