Van Cu Village was established more than 500 years ago. The craft of noodle making is not only a way of living for locals, but also a unique cultural feature of the area.
Today, Van Cu noodles are well-consumed at markets, eateries, and restaurants across Hue city. It is one of major ingredients in making the signature dish Hue beef noodle.
It is estimated that Van Cu villagers provide about 30 tonnes of noodle to the market every day. During holidays and Tet Festival, the figure can be double or even 3 or 4 times higher.
Speaking at the honouring ceremony, Do Ngoc An, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Tra Town, shared that the recognition is an important milestone in the locality’s effort of preserving and promoting cultural values.
This is also an honour for the people of Van Cu and a source of pride for the people of Huong Tra Town and Hue City in general, he stated.
