Updated: 17:17, 23/09/2022
Le Quang Liem, Vietnam number one player, continued his fine form on the third day of the Champion Chess Tour's Generation Cup by victory over former world champion Levon Aronian.

In the first game (ninth overall) of the third day, Liem, 20th on world ranking, played world number eighth Levon Aronian of the U.S., who became world champion in 2005 and 2017. The turning point came at the endgame when Liem's knight took down Aroninan's bishops and forced him to surrender after 57 moves.
