VND10 trillion flood control project to be completed by year-end

On August 22, the Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company installed an anti-tide valve in Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City, as part of a flood control project worth nearly VND10 trillion (over US$43 billion).

This is the fifth anti-tide valves installed among the total of six valves under the project. The item of Cay Kho anti-tide drainage is deployed on Can Giuoc River, connecting Binh Chanh District and Nha Be District.

The Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company installed an anti-tide valve in Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City.

After nearly five years of construction, this project has delayed the progress many times, in which the cause of problems is clearance compensation. However, the investor has committed to make efforts to synchronously construct items to complete the entire project by December 2020.

The project has been implemented at an investment cost of nearly VND10 trillion with a scale of seven items,including six large anti-tidal valves with apertures from 40 to 160m in Ben Nghe, Tan Thuan, Phu Xuan, Muong Chuoi, Cay Kho, Phu Dinh and the 7.8 km embankment along the Saigon River from Vam Thuat to Kinh River with small culverts with apertures of less than 10m. The construction site is in districts 1, 4, 7, 8, Nha Be and Binh Chanh.
