Winners of National Press Award on the fight against corruption and wastefulness honoured
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien underscored that the fight against corruption and wastefulness is an important task of the entire Party and State in the Party building work and the country's socio-economic development.

He said it is necessary for journalists to promote their roles and be professional in finding information on wrongdoings, adding that attention should be paid to detecting loopholes in legal frameworks, policies and mechanisms which can be a hotbed for corruption, negative phenomenon and abuse of power.
The award was jointly held by the VFF Central Committee, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television. It received nearly 1,200 entries in the four categories of printed newspaper, online newspaper, radio, and television by journalists from over 100 press agencies across the nation.

The VFF President also hailed that many submissions focussed on the topic of praising and encouraging exemplary models in the fight against corruption and waste as well as in the prevention of negative phenomena among officials, Party members and public servants.
One Special prize, four A prizes, 10 B prizes, 12 C prizes and 18 consolation prizes were presented at the ceremony.
