Women join hands to promote beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai

Updated: 09:05, 02/03/2025

The An Giang Provincial Women's Association in collaboration with the Provincial Labour Federation held a ceremony on March 1 to honour Vietnam's traditional Ao Dai.

The event was among activities celebrating the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910–March 8, 2025) and the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.

Participants at the ceremony held on March 1 in An Giang Province to honour Vietnam's traditional Ao Dai.

While attending the event, over 1,000 members of women's unions, female entrepreneurs, and female officials and students from the province dressed in Ao Dai and joined a street parade to promote the beauty of the traditional Vietnamese outfit.

Speaking at the ceremony, Phan Thi Diem, Chairwoman of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union, called on local women and female public employees and workers in the province to wear Ao Dai in response to Vietnam Ao Dai Week, from March 1 to March 8.

Previously on February 28, over 1,000 women in Thai Binh Province dressed up in Ao Dai and joyfully joined folk dances and a street fashion show at an event held by the provincial Women’s Association.

At the event, the organiser awarded certificates and flowers to the winners of an online photo contest themed ‘Graceful Ao Dai’.
