19 year old man’s donated organs save many people
Nguyen Van Lanh and Nguyen Thi Huong cannot ease their shock for the son’s death.
In the small house, Lanh said Manh was the oldest son in a family with 2 younger brothers, namely Nguyen Tuan Quynh (eleven grader) and Nguyen Van Quang (fourth grader).

Due to the family difficulties and sicked mother, after graduating from nine grade, Manh quit the school to follow carpenter career and work in Tu Son town (Bac Ninh province). Sometimes, he returned to the hometown.
On the bad day of December 15, after attending a party in the village and having some drinks, Manh asked his mother to use the motorbike to take the youngest brother to visit his grandparent in Danh Thanh commune, just 2 km away from home.
Only 20 minutes later, the family was informed about the accident which injured Manh, his brother and other two victims seriously.

At the same night, the doctors at the provincial General Hospital informed the family about Manh’s severely critical condition after completing the surgery. The parent strove to be strong and expressed the idea to donate their son’s organs to the medical sector.
“The only thing come to my mind is that my son is a healthy and industrious youth with deep affection to the parent, I want to keep the good thing of my son when presenting a part of him to others,” Huong shared.
Huong’s desire was agreed by the whole family. Thanks to the connection of the provincial General Hospital, the doctors at Vietnam German Hospital arrived to pick up Manh to the hospital around 4 am in the next day.
The doctors at the Vietnam German Hospital continued the intensive treatment to Manh one day more without any progress. After his death, the Organ Transplant Center of Vietnam German Hospital keeps eyes, heart, lungs, kidneys, tendon and many other tissues.

At the same day, Manh’s donated tissues and organs were transplanted to 4 victims.
According to the Head of Cam village Nguyen Van Lang, it is a good deed from the family of Lanh and Huong to donate the son’s organs to save others. The local authorities and organizations visited to encourage the family.
The communal People’s Committee also bestowed the Certificate of Recognition to Nguyen Tien Manh who had a good deed of “Organs donation to save other people”. Lanh and Huong helps widespread the humane meaning and prolong the life for other victims.
