Art programme marks Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day

Co-organised by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), the programme was attended by Politburo members: Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh; and Secretaries of Party Central Committee (PCC): Chief of the PCC Office Nguyen Van Nen, Head of the PCC's Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac, the Chairman of the Party Central Theoretical Council and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang; alongside leaders from ministries and departments, as well as Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, sick and wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and revolutionary contributors from five province and cities in the northern region.

Addressing the ceremony, Thuan Huu, member of the CPV Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, deputy head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education, and President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, emphasised that with great respect and gratitude, Vietnamese people always remember the great sacrifices made by the heroes and fallen soldiers who devoted their lives to the nation and the people.

At the programme, the organizing board presented gifts and saving books worth VND20 million each to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and delegations of 20 families of war invalids and martyrs who are in living in difficult circumstances in localities throughout the country, with the total amount of VND 460 million.

The programme, featuring the participation of many well-known artists, such as meritorious artists Thanh Lam, Quoc Hung; singers Ho Quynh Huong, Tung Duong, Phuong Thanh, Duc Tuan, My Dung and Bui Le Man, aims to express the country’s’ gratitude to the revolutionary contributors, strengthen the patriotic education, national pride and responsibility of youth in the current period, and call for donations and support to tens of thousands of veterans and relatives of martyrs who have difficulties living across the country.
