(BGO) – The State President has issued the Decision bestowing the title of Meritorious Artist to 516 individuals and People’s Artist to 62 artist as well as 4 deceased ones for their excellent contributions to preserving and promoting the national intangible cultural heritage.
Among them, there are 13 artists from Bac Giang province presented with Meritorious Artist titles, including Do Thi Khoa, Lam Minh Sap, Chu Thi Hong Van, Pham Tien Tuan, Nguyen Thi Bich Do, Tran Van Ba, Ngo Van Boi, Mac Van Dau, Nong Dung Long, Duong Quang Tu, Duong Van San, Ban Van Cuong and Trieu Thi Binh (Thuy Binh).

Particularly, 2 Meritorious Artists of the province are honoured as People’s Artists in the folk art performance, namely artisan Nguyen Ba Lam (born in 1920) in Tho Ha village, Van Ha commune (Viet Yen district) in the art of ancient Tuong (classical opera) and artisan Hoac Cong Cho or Hoang Cong Cho (born in 1936) in Trung Dong village, Van Trung commune (Viet Yen district) in the art of love duet folk singing.

(BGO) - Then village, Thai Dao commune (Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province) is known as the only "violin village" in Vietnam, where the players are farmers.
