Bac Giang: 5 First Prize Winners at National Excellent Student Competition

BAC GIANG - In the national excellent student competition for the 2024-2025 school year, Bac Giang province has 5 students winning first prizes in Geography, Biology and Chinese. 3 out of 5 first prizes belong to students majoring in Geography. They are excellent students of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.

Pham Hong Lien (born in 2007), a 12th grader majoring in History and Geography, was born into a farming family in Cao Xa commune (Tan Yen).

Since early childhood, she has set her own plans and goals and made every effort to achieve the best results in her studies, with continuous achievements of good and excellent academic performance.

While in grade 10, Lien won the Gold Medal in Geography at the 2023 competition for students at gifted high schools in the Northern Delta and Coastal regions.

In grades 11 and 12, Lien participated in and won second and first prizes in the national excellent student competition for two consecutive years.

With many outstanding achievements in studying and training, in January 2025, Pham Hong Lien was honored by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union with the title of "3 Good Students" at the national level.

Nguyen Thi Hoai Men.

Loving social sciences and dreaming of exploring new lands, since childhood, Nguyen Thi Hoai Men (born 2008), a 11th grader majoring in History - Geography, has been passionate about geography lessons.

When she was in grade 9, Men won second prize in Geography in the provincial excellent student competition. She continues to study in the History - Geography specialized class after being admitted directly to grade 10 at Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.

In addition to focusing on knowledge in textbooks and specialized topics, Men is always proactive in researching, approaching, and updating current socio-economic issues to expand her knowledge.

At the Hung Vuong Summer Camp Excellent Student Competition in 2024, Men won a Silver Medal in Geography.

Ha Thi Van Dung.

As a classmate of Men, female student Ha Thi Van Dung (born 2008) was good at all subjects when she was in secondary school and won many prizes for excellent students in Math at the district level.

She chose to study Geography because the subject has many interesting things, allowing her to know many regions of the country and have the opportunity to deepen knowledge of geological layers, biosphere, and the formation of the earth.

From that passion, she became the valedictorian in the entrance exam for grade 10 specializing in History - Geography at Bac Giang High School for the Gifted in the 2023-2024 school year.

Previously, the female student won the Silver Medal in Geography at the 2024 competition for students at gifted high schools in the Northern Delta and Coastal regions.

Notably, at the 2024-2025 national competition for excellent students, Dung achieved the highest achievement in her favorite subject (First prize in Geography).

Phung Quang Hung.

Phung Quang Hung (born in 2008) is currently a student in grade 11 specializing in Biology. Right from the lower grades, Hung has affirmed his intelligence and special love for Biology.

Hung won the third prize in Biology in the excellent student competition of Bac Giang city in grade 8 and first prize in the excellent student competition at the provincial level in grade 8 and was directly admitted to the 10th grade specializing in Biology of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.

With a deep understanding of Biology and passion for searching for supplementary materials, when studying in grade 10, Hung won a Silver Medal at 2024 competition for students at gifted high schools in the Northern Delta and Coastal regions.

Hoang Thi Bac (born in 2008), an 11th grader majoring in Chinese, was born and raised in Que Nham commune (Tan Yen). Her mother, a teacher at Que Nham Secondary School always encourages her to study.

When she was in secondary school, she studied at a village school and never participated in the district or provincial excellent student team, but in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, Bac was the valedictorian of Bac Giang province.

From her love for the melodies of Chinese songs, Bac was determined and passed the entrance exam to the 10th grade Chinese major at Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.

Bac's biggest goal when studying Chinese major was to join the national excellent student team and that goal came true when she won first prize at the national excellent student competition for the 2024-2025 school year.

Her learning experience is to proactively arrange a reasonable schedule between studying and entertainment.

Bac won the Gold Medal in Chinese in the Hung Vuong Summer Camp Excellent Student Competition in 2024 and won the Silver Medal in Chinese at 2024 competition for students at gifted high schools in the Northern Delta and Coastal regions.
