Impressive "Happy Snake" statue in Hiep Hoa district

BAC GIANG – For the past few days, the 7-tonne "Happy Snake" statue that was completed and placed in "Happy Garden" in Tan Son village, Hung Thai commune, Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) has attracted the attention of many people.

Amid the bustling atmosphere ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year of Snake 2025, the image of a snake mascot in Bac Giang created by Bui Van Quan (33 years old) in Tan Son village, Hung Thai commune has become viral on social network.

This mascot is described as “a plump, lovely, pretty, graceful, elegant and noble snake girl” with big round eyes and long eyelashes.

Quan said he came up with the idea for this model in June 2024. He spent more than 80 days with his colleagues to complete the 5.1 m high (including the pedestal), 7 tonne weight, 2.7 x 3.2 m in size, made of cement, steel and sand.

Quan's "Happy Garden" currently has many cartoon characters, attracting the attention of young people.

The finished statue is covered with a layer of oil paint and varnish, which can withstand the weather for 4-5 years. The workers decorate the pedestal with apricot blossom and lantern models.

He explained that green is the color of young leaves, new vitality, hoping to convey a message about a new era of growth.

Quan shares "With the main color green, I hope that Happy Snake will bring new beliefs and hopes in 2025."

The name "Happy Snake" with the main color of green seemed to be a farewell to 2024 and welcome a happy new year, without loss, pain or natural disasters.

Quan's mascot "Happy Snake" is not only a landscape decoration but also reflects the strong vitality of the locality, conveying faith and hope for a successful new year.
