4 FDI enterprises donate 1.4 billion VND to support Tet for the poor in Son Dong
BAC GIANG - On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, on the morning of January 13, the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee organized a programme to receive funds to support Tet for the poor in Son Dong district.
The event was attended by Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of units, localities and 4 sponsoring enterprises, including Lens Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd.; Luxshare - ICT (Vietnam) Co., Ltd.; Seojin Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Foxconn Technology Group, Bac Giang branch.

At the programme, four enterprises donated Tet gifts to poor households in Son Dong district with a total amount of 1.4 billion VND (nearly 58,000 USD) (each enterprise donated 350 million VND).
Leaders of the Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Giang province presented the "Certificate of Golden Heart" to the sponsors.
Son Dong is the only district in Bac Giang province on the list of poor districts in the country. By the end of 2024, the whole district had more than 4,000 poor and near-poor households with the poverty rate of 10.26%.
Da Lat, Hanoi and Hue are the busiest destinations in Vietnam during the upcoming Tet holiday that peaks on Jan. 29, according to booking data from online travel platform Agoda.
BAC GIANG – On January 10, Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee (PPC) Mai Son visited and extended Tet wishes to a number of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises in the province.
With just over two weeks to the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival, made-in-Vietnam products are having a dominant presence at supermarkets and convenience stores across the country, showcasing the growing strength of such brands as Kinh Do, Huu Nghi, Bibica, Cau Tre, and Vissan.
The highest Tet bonus in Vietnam this year has been recorded at VND1.908 billion ($75,162), while the nationwide average stands at VND7.7 million, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
A programme titled “Green Chung Cakes — Tet for the Poor 2025” is being organised by the management board of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism alongside other activities to welcome the Lunar New Year at the location.
Vietnam remains a major tourist draw, with searches for accommodation during the upcoming Tet holidays increasing by 139% year-on-year, data from online travel platform Agoda shows.
