Searches for Vietnam hotels during Tet up 139%: Agoda
Vietnam remains a major tourist draw, with searches for accommodation during the upcoming Tet holidays increasing by 139% year-on-year, data from online travel platform Agoda shows.
Mainland China tops the list of visitors to Vietnam during the holidays that last from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2, with their searches increasing by 296%.

The Year of Snake falls on Jan. 29.
They were followed by Taiwan (123%) and South Korea (96%), Agoda's booking search data for Nov. 27-Dec. 21, 2024, with check-in dates falling between Jan. 25 and Feb. 2, showing.
Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Nha Trang were the most searched destinations by foreign tourists, Agoda said.
Vietnam received 17.58 million foreign tourists in 2024, a 39.5% increase from the previous year and equivalent to 97.6% of pre-Covid numbers.
South Korea was Vietnam's top source of visitors, with 4.5 million arrivals, up 27%.
It was followed by mainland China with 3.73 million and Taiwan with 1.28 million.
