Bac Giang becomes rendezvous point for near and far tourists

BAC GIANG - With open spaces, charming landscapes and unique architectural buildings imbued with traditional historical and cultural values, many destinations in the northern province of Bac Giang always attract visitors from near and far.

The complex of Tien Luc communal house, temple and pagoda in Lang Giang district has recently been recognized as a special national relic by the Prime Minister. This complex is famous in the region for Phuc Quang pagoda, Tien Luc temple, Thuan Hoa communal house, Vien Son communal house and the ancient camphor trees tree.

The highlight attracting tourists is the thousand-year-old camphor tree, which was conferred by King Le Canh Hung as "Quoc Chua Do Moc Da Dai Vuong" - the largest camphor tree in the country.

The ancient tree is located right behind Vien Son communal house with majestic and straight shape reaching up to the blue sky. According to survey data, the tree is over 30 m high, the largest trunk circumference is 17.4 m, equivalent to 8 people holding hands to hug it.

Every year, tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country come to visit, worship and learn about the spiritual culture at ancient communal houses, temple and pagoda who are all satisfied standing under the lush trees, touching the "divine wood" and feeling the peace.

The Tien Luc festival is held at the relic complex on the 18th, 19th, and 20th of the third lunar month every year, attracting a large number of locals and tourists.

Additionally, Danh mountain landscape in Lien Chung and Viet Lap communes of Tan Yen district) is located not far from Thuong river, the highest peak is about 117 m above sea level. This place has beautiful natural scenery with many-year-old pine forests and fresh air.

According to the Danh temple relic management board, at the end of the year and in spring, thousands of people from inside and outside the province come here to offer incense and visit the site.

The relic management board coordinates with local forces to ensure environmental sanitation, security and order, creating a good impression on tourists.

Visitors coming here not only admire the majestic landscape but also explore the cultural colors of this land. In particular, they are told by the locals the folk story about Danh mountain ginseng or the product offered to the King. The use of this precious ginseng was considered as "miracle drug" when it helped Queen Mother Tu Du or mother of King Tu Duc regain her sight.

Nguyen Van Nam, Vice Chairman of Lien Chung Commune People's Committee said many businesses, establishments and households in the locality have invested in planting and processing quality products from Danh mountain ginseng, building product brands to meet the needs of consumers and tourists to exploit the land advantage.

In addition, some typical products of this land such as grilled fermented fork roll, soy sauce and purple onions are also widely produced and consumed.

Bau Tien eco-tourism site attracts visitors.

Not only spiritual tourist attractions with unique artistic knowledge and traditional cultural features but also many community eco-tourism destinations in the province are also popular among tourists, typically Van Hoa Ho Va community eco-tourism destination in Dong Phu commune (Luc Nam); Bau Tien eco-tourism destination in Dong Dao village, Quy Son commune (Chu township).

Hoang Van Hiep, Director of Dong Dao Tourism Cooperative - the unit investing and exploiting the tourist site, said along with investing in construction, upgrading facilities, improving service quality, the Cooperative has increased promotion on social networks, launched various events on lychee ripe season, orange and grapefruit season with the participation of famous artists to attract numerous visitors.

In the future, the unit will continue to introduce new tourism products such as noodle making experience models, ethnic minority folk singing exchanges, both creating unique features and contributing to preserving and promoting local cultural identity.
