Promoting the tradition of "mutual love", at this time, all levels, sectors and localities in the northern province of Bac Giang are launching many activities to care for the poor and vulnerable as well as help them welcome new warm spring.
The family of Duong Van Tien and Nguyen Thi Yen in Nhu Thiet residential group of Hong Thai ward (Viet Yen township) was moved when receiving gifts ahead of Tet holiday. Both are disabled (Tien was born blind while his wife has a clubfoot), so their life is full of difficulties and deprivation.
Leaders of the Provincial Red Cross Society visit the family of Tran Thi Nhan (born in 1946) - a poor household in Xuan Lan residential group, Bo Ha town (Yen The district) who had just received support to build a house. |
Without a stable job, they sell goods on the street every day to earn an income to take care of their 3 school-age children.
To share the burden with the family, recently, the couple and 40 other cases received Tet gifts from the Viet Yen Township Disabled Youth Club. Each gift was worth 500,000 VND including cash and some necessities and warm clothes. Although the material value was not big, the warm gift of humanity was precious sharing of love for the disadvantaged cases.
Caring for the poor and impoverished families on Tet occasion is part of the social security policy, reflecting the fine tradition of the nation. This is also a driving force, creating confidence for the poor and disadvantaged to rise up in life.
Therefore, the movement "Tet for the poor" is an opportunity to mobilize maximum participation and active support from a wide range of people inside and outside the province.
According to the 2024 review results, the whole province still had more than 8,300 poor households (accounting for 1.73%); more than 12,700 near-poor households (accounting for 2.65%).

Each cadre, civil servant, employee and worker support at least one day's salary or one day's income. |
