Vietnam's highest Tet bonus reaches $75,100
The highest Tet bonus in Vietnam this year has been recorded at VND1.908 billion ($75,162), while the nationwide average stands at VND7.7 million, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Nguyen Van Hoi, deputy labor minister, said at a Wednesday government press meeting that the record bonus was awarded to a senior manager at a foreign-invested tech company in Ho Chi Minh City.

The average Tet bonus nationwide has increased by 13% compared to last year.
The average New Year bonus was reported at VND1.46 million per person, equivalent to 79% of last year's figure. The highest New Year bonus, at VND1.8 billion ($70,908), went to a senior manager at a foreign-invested food retail company, also in HCMC.
Average monthly salaries in 2024 rose 4% year-on-year to VND8.8 million, according to the ministry.
This year's Tet holiday, Vietnam's longest and most significant celebration, will span nine days, from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2.
