Bac Giang-born singer Tran Tung Anh wins special prize at music contest in China
BAC GIANG- Singer Tran Tung Anh, born in Luc Nam district, northern province of Bac Giang recently won the special prize at Qingyin Award- Youth Music Festival 2024 hosted by Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in Hangzhou, China.
In late July, after over one week competing with nearly 600 excellent contestants from many countries, singer Tung Anh won the highest position, the special prize in the youth opera category thanks to his unique vocal quality.

This is the first music award organized by Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, one of the top music institutions in China.
At the final round, Tung Anh performed the mashup of famous Vietnamese chamber songs, including ‘Xuan Chien Khu’ (Spring on Battlefield), ‘Nguoi Lai Do Tren Song Poko’ (Ferryman on the Poko River), ‘Canh Chim Bao Tin Vui’ (Bird Brings Good News), and ‘Truong Ca Song Lo’ (Epic of the Lo River). He wowed the international audiences by performing the songs in both male and female voice.
Despite his intense preparation for the contest, the born-in Bac Giang singer was still surprised to become the award winner.
“I am very proud and happy to sing Vietnamese songs on the stage of an international contest and win the highest prize. The commendations from the judges when I performed Vietnamese songs motivated me to pursue my art career including chamber music”, said Tran Tung Anh.

Tran Tung Anh (born in 1995) was a phenomenon at The Voice of Vietnam in 2017. He was invited to participate in a series of music contests and TV shows such as The Wall Duet 2018 and Familiar Faces 2019 and he became hot with his special performances.
He deeply impressed the audiences nationwide when performing the duet singing by himself with both warm male voice and sweet female soprano.
