In May 2022, the provincial People’s Committee worked out the Scheme “the Farmers’ Associations at all levels act as the core in agricultural production towards linkage under the value chains, building and improving quality of OCOP products in 2022-2025 period”.

As defining this is a key task which is significant for the producers, the Farmers’ Associations at all levels have implemented a number of solutions to support and guide its members and farmers to develop farm produce trademarks.

Besides, they have promoted communication and provided training for the members, cooperatives and participants of the OCOP programme. Based on the key, signature and potential products of the 10 districts and city, the provincial Farmers’ Association (PFA) has collaborated with Hanoi Pharmaceutical Development Join Stock Company to survey, evaluate and select potential products to meeting OCOP product standards to provide guidance on document finalization.

There were 22 products guided by the PFA recognized OCOP products in 2022. According to the 2023 plan, the Farmers’ Association at all level will survey and provide consultancy for 32 products. 17 products were rated 3-star OCOP after the first campaign.

In line with supporting to build new OCOP products, the associations at all levels have adopted many good methods to maintain, develop and improve quality of the rated products.

Besides, they pay continuous attention to establishment of cooperatives and cooperative groups as a foundation to develop OCOP products.

Keeping "stars" for OCOP products

After five years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Programme, Bac Giang now has 253 starred products, among the top localities with many recognized products. However, for many reasons, some owners do not care about keeping and upgrading their products.
