Bac Giang promotes OCOP products at rest stops along expressways

BAC GIANG – A number of cooperatives in northern province of Bac Giang have collaborated to bring their OCOP and signature products to showcase at the rest stops along the expressways in Hai Phong city to boost promotion and consumption.

The cooperatives including Hung Phu, Quyen Phong Agriculture, Lien Chung Danh Mountain ginseng production and consumption, Cuong Thi agricultural and food processing (Tan Yen district), Yen The green agriculture and Hang Anh (Yen The district) have worked together to bring their products and products of other cooperatives in the province for display and consumption at 2 rest stops along the expressways in Hai Phong city.

The total area for exhibition and sale of goods is about 600 square metre. More than 100 varieties of goods are on the shelves here, particularly Danh mountain ginseng products, Yen The hill chicken, polyscias fruticose and guava tea, waffle, rice noodle, banh da Ke (dried pancake) and seasonal fruits. Besides, the cooperatives arrange a fast food area to serve tourists.

This group of cooperatives started selling their products at the rest stops since 24 April 2024 on the holiday occasion of Vietnamese Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day when there was bigger number of tourists to the rest stops raising high demand for food and shopping.

Those days, 3 employees worked at full capacity at each rest stop when the products were consecutively transported from Bac Giang. Each rest stop earned a revenue from 30 to 50 million VND (1,177-1,962 USD) per day.

Currently, the cooperatives continue connecting to bring OCOP and signature products of the province to display and sell at the rest stops along the expressways in Ninh Binh province.
