Bac Giang launches the programme of “Free milk for the primary pupils”

(BGO) – The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) coordinated with donor Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (Long Thanh Golf) and the Bac Giang provincial Department of Labour, War Invalid and Social Affairs on October 12 launched the programme of “Free Milk for the primary pupils” for the period of 2017 – 2022 at Nghia Phuong 3 primary school in Nghia Phuong commune, Luc Nam district (Bac Giang).

The event was attended by Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, member of the Central Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman, President of Protection Council for National Fund for Vietnamese Children; Le Anh Duong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Tran Van Lam, Deputy Head of the provincial NA deputy; representatives from the provincial departments, sectors and branches; donors and more than 400 pupils in Nghia Phuong primary school 3.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong, on behalf of Bac Giang province warmly welcomed the programme. He instructed the provincial sectors of Education and Training, Labour – War Invalids – Social Affairs to seriously implement the programme in order to improve the pupils’ nutrition and physical strength as well as promote the future workforce.

The National Fund for Vietnamese Children presents 30 bicycles to students of Nghia Phuong secondary school.

At the ceremony, Long Thanh Golf and NFVC inked a donation agreement for the programme of “Free milk for primary pupils” in the period of 2017 – 2022. Accordingly, Long Thanh Golf will support milk to about 15,000 primary pupils in 10 provinces and cities including Nghia Phuong 3 primary school with a total cost of 25 billion VND (1.1 million USD).

The NFVC took the occasion to present 50 scholarships to poor children with excellent academic result in Nghia Phuong primary school (Unit 1, 2 and 3), each worth 1 million VND (44USD) together with gift packages; 30 bicycles to 30 students of Nghia Phuong secondary school, each valued nearly 2 million VND (88 USD).
