The BUFO now has eight bilateral friendship associations at the provincial level and 11 at district and city level. Over the past five years, it has gathered nearly 6,000 regular members. With its key role in creating the peaceful and friendly relationship with all the nations in the world, the BUFO has coordinated with the PFFC, departments and sectors to organize many people- to- people diplomacy activities and programmes.

In the next tenure, the BUFO targets at the group of solutions such as enhancing the effectiveness of international peaceful, friendly and cooperative activities; reinforcing the exchange and expansion of international relation and diplomacy reception; boosting up diplomacy popularization while further promoting the task of non-government organization and humanitarian activities.

Speaking at the Congress, Le Anh Duong and Phan Anh Son highly appreciated the BUFO’s gained achievements in the last tenure and urged the union to reinforce the consultation on people-to-people diplomacy affairs, well perform the task of education and political ideology to its members as well as continue strengthening the union organization, particularly the member unions and expanding the bilateral associations.

The BUFO’s activities should incorporate the friendship task with the cooperative connection in the economy, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, security and national defence while well playing its role as a bridge to link the community of Bac Giang expatriates.

Additionally, it is necessary for the BUFO to research to ink the coordination procedure with the departments, agencies and sectors to improve the operational efficiency.

At the Congress, the fourth Executive Board was elected with 23 members for the tenure 2018 – 2023. PFFC Chairman Tran Cong Thang was continuously voted as Chairman of the BUFO.

On the occasion, VUFO, provincial People’s Committee and PFFC honored and awarded certificates of merit and insignia to 30 collectives and individuals with excellent achievements in people-to-people diplomacy affairs.

Promoting bridging role, diversifying external activities

(BGO) - Implementing the foreign policy of the Party and the State, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Bac Giang province (BUFO) has brought into full play its role as a bridge to call for support from non-governmental organizations, thus actively contributing to the socio-economic development and ensuring social security in the province.
