The tourney was jointly launched from November 13 – 23 by the Department of Culture and Sports in Quang Ninh province and Vietnam Chess Federation. It drew nearly 60 players of 12 delegations from provinces, cities, sectors and clubs nationwide.

Bac Giang team participated in the event with 14 athletes to vie for medals at rapid, blitz and standard chess categories.

Concluding the event, the Organization Board awarded six sets of medals to excellent male and female players at the contents. Bac Giang athletes won one gold and two bronze medals.

Nguyen Thi Mai Hung bagged gold medal at standard chess and bronze medal at rapid chess categories while another bronze was awarded to Doan Thi Van Anh at blitz chess content.

The championship aimed to assess the profession of the chess players and select new faces for national team to prepare for international event in 2022.
