56 sets of medals awarded to rapid and blitz chess at national youth chess championships

(BGO) - The Organization Board of the National Youth Chess Championships 2020 on November 3 awarded the prize to the excellent players in rapid and blitz chess contents at the Bac Giang provincial Conventional Hall. 

228 players competed at the rapid chess and 229 players vied for medals at blitz chess content who came from 11 delegations at 7 different age groups of male and female at U7, U9, u11, U13, U15, U18 and U20. 37 athletes from Bac Giang province participated in both events.

After 2 day competition, 56 sets of medals were awarded to the excellent players at rapid and blitz chess. Currently, Ho Chi Minh city delegation secures top position with 45 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze medals.

At two contents, Bac Giang’s players won 2 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals. The gold winners were Nguyen Linh Chi and Mac Thuy Yen Chi at rapid and blitz chess’s U7 women’s team categories.

As schedule, the players will continue the competition at standard and traditional chess contents from November 4 – 8.
