Bac Giang team bags 7 medals at South East Asia Youth Chess Championships

(BGO) – The South East Asia Youth Chess Championships was held in the Philippines from June 18 – 28, attracting 365 players from 8 countries in the region.

Joining the tourney, Bac Giang’s players performed excellently and won 7 medals of all kinds, including 4 golds and 3 silvers. Concretely, young player Nguyen Thi Mai Lan bagged 1 gold medal in the U12 team category, 1 silver medal in females’ single category of standard chess and 1 silver the team item of the blitz chess.

Besides, Tran Thi Hong Ngoc competed successfully with 2 golds in females’ single and team categories of the rapid chess while 1 gold and 1 silver were awarded to player Luong Hoang Tu Linh at single and team contents of the blitz chess.

Bac Giang’s chess players compete successfully and win 7 medals at South East Asia Youth Chess Championships.

The high achievement has proved for appropriate chess training in the northern province of Bac Giang, helping affirm the provincial chess ranking on the international and regional arena. Also, it is a positive signal for the future generation of Bac Giang’s chess.
