As this year lychees exported to Japan are cultivated up to VietGAP standard, the GlobalGAP lychee farming area is stable as compared to the previous year, at nearly 340 ha. Particularly, the area of lychees exported to Japan increased by 116 ha over last year, including 20 ha in Tan Yen and Luc Nam and the rest in Luc Ngan.
Currently, the weather is very favorable for lychees to bloom and fruit, signaling a bumper harvest. The localities are directing farmers to prepare all the best conditions, from materials to techniques, to care for the trees to grow and develop well.
Vice Chairman of the Luc Ngan district People's Committee Nguyen The Thi said, with the aim of ensuring the quality of lychees grown in the code-granted areas, the district has instructed specialized agencies to implement an array of measures right from the moment of flowering. It has established many working groups coming to communes and households to guide farmers to apply correct caring techniques, prioritizing households who have been given growing area codes for export to demanding markets.
