The event was held by Department of Grassroots Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) from August 1 to 4 with the participation of nearly 1,000 artisans, artists and actors of ethnic groups from 24 provinces and cities across the country. The teams competed in culinary contest and performances of traditional ritual, folk songs, folk dances, musical instruments and ethnic costumes.

The Organizing Committee awarded 33 gold medals, 62 silver medals, First and Second Prizes and Certificates of Merit to the collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements at the competition.

The team from the Bac Giang Province Cultural and Cinema Center brought to the audiences the performances of the Nung Phan Sinh ethnic group's birthday celebration; traditional costumes of the Tay, Dao Thanh Phan ethnic groups and Quan Ho costumes. They also performed 5 folk songs, folk dances with traditional musical instruments.

As a result, the performance “Then To May” won the Gold Medal; three performances of the birthday worship ceremony of the Nung Phan Sinh ethnic group; the dance “Duyen dang Kinh Bac” and the quan ho singing “Nguoi o dung ve - Con nhen giang mung” won the Silver Medal.

The performance of traditional costumes of the Tay, Dao Thanh Phan ethnic groups and traditional quan ho costumes won the Second Prize.

This activity aimed to introduce and promote the values ​​of intangible cultural heritage, customs, traditional festivals, folk songs, folk dances, costumes, and cuisine of ethnic groups across the country.
