Bac Giang works to prevent illegal entrants
Since the first Covid-19 cases were recorded in the province, the local police have discovered nine cases with 38 Chinese people illegally entering the province. The provincial authorities launched legal proceedings against six cases, involving nine people. Since February, the provincial police have detected five cases, with 22 illegal entrants.

Typically, at 11pm on March 11, a group of 10 Chinese people were discovered by the local police while walking on a deserted road in village 7, Tang Tien commune (Viet Yen district) to wait for a bus to continue moving to the southern provinces. The External Security Division of the provincial Public Security Agency has coordinated with professional units and the Viet Yen district Police to investigate the case.
On April 11, the provincial police detected and arrested two Chinese people who illegally entered Bac Giang city. Through renting a house to open a paint shop, Nguyen Van Thu (born in 1988) in Minh Tri commune, Soc Son district (Hanoi); Le Cong Quynh (born in 1989) in Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district (Thai Nguyen province); Phan Thi Nguyet (born in 1993) in Bao Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district (Nghe An province) organized the illegal stay of the above group in Vietnam.
Senior Lieutenant Phan Van Quy from the External Security Division of the provincial Public Security Agency said that the Chinese people did not directly organize illegal entries, but used social networks QQ and Wechat to contact with and guide others to illegally enter Vietnam through the trails and openings in border areas of Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces. Then the illegal entrants were brought into Bac Giang province by a number of Vietnamese. After entering, they were taken to motels to stay overnight and transported to other provinces in the next day.
Amid the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial police launched a campaign to attack and suppress criminals, and prevent Vietnamese from leaving and foreigners from entering the country illegally. Accordingly, the forces focused on promoting the dissemination of the laws in order to raise people's awareness of the legal provisions on immigration; grasping the situation to detect, prevent and deal with foreigners illegally entering the locality; and rectifying the management of foreigners' residence. At the same time, organizations and individuals with passenger cars, taxis, and cargo trucks are required to sign a commitment not to transport people who enter and exit the country illegally...
Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Van, deputy head of the Luc Ngan district police office, said that the district is now preparing for the lychee harvest season. As usual, a large number of Chinese dealers come to the area to buy lychees. At present, nearly 200 traders are present in the district. Therefore, the local police have recommended the district People's Committee to take measures to manage and quarantine them for more than 14 days. They have actively grasped the situation to promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle those organizing the illegal stay of foreigners in Vietnam.
In Bac Giang city, City Police Chief Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Tuong said: "We have directed working teams to inspect areas every day in order to promptly detect and prevent illegal entrants, while improving the professional skills and raise the sense of responsibility of police officers”.
