Bac Giang youth actively, creatively promote homeland’s image

On weekends, despite the sprinkling rain, Bo Da pagoda (Viet Yen) still crowded with visitors. As many other visitors, Pham Thanh Hai, who lives in Lao Cai City (Lao Cai Province), is very satisfied to have a chance to visit the pagoda. After burning incense, praying, sightseeing the pagoda, Hai and his friends stop at the ancient tower garden to take souvenir photos.
"Late last year, I was curious when a friend's facebook posted beautiful pictures of the complex of this special national relic. When I came here, I was really amazed to see the huge Buddhist prayer woodblocks which are the oldest of its kind made of Diospyros decandra wood, the country's biggest garden of towers encircled by an old brick wall”, Hai said.
In the early days of spring, when visiting relic sites, scenic spots of Bac Giang, we can easily feel the bustle of crowded tourists. Visitors come here not only in and out of the province as in Hanoi, Lao Cai, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh ... but also foreigners who were very interested in visiting these beautiful sceneries of Bac Giang. Recently, Ander Marker - a French painter had the opportunity to Bac Giang. Before making the decision to visit Bac Giang, she searched for information on social networks and via Facebook, she learned a lot about the cultural identity of a land rich in cultural tradition. After the end of the journey, she posted beautiful pictures taken during her visit to Bac Giang on her personal facebook and attracted the attention and love of many people.
With the rapid spread of information in the online environment, social media has become an important information channel for people and the tourism industry. Taking advantage of social media, many young people in the province have used facebook as a tool to store and share information, feelings about the relics, attractions of the homeland. According to Nguyen Van Loc, Deputy of the department of Viet Yen District's Culture and Information Office, in the first few months of 2018, Bo Da Pagoda and Van Ha ancient village welcomed the largest number of tourists ever, especially in the New Year festival and the weekend. Thanks to beautiful clips and pictures introduced by Bac Giang youth on facebook and website http: //vietyen.bacgiang.gov.vn, many visitors know and decide to visit Bo Da Pagoda.

As a mass gathering of youth, the provincial delegations played a significant role in the implementation of Resolution No. 44-NQ / TU dated March 30, 2016 on tourism development of the province from 2016-2020. From that thought, contributing to Bac Giang achieve the goal of attracting more than 1million tourists by 2020, Standing Committee of Bac Giang’s Youth Union launched movement “Youth promote Bac Giang’s images” to 100% of the delegation.
The first highlight of this propaganda program is the "Pride of Bac Giang youth" MV produced in October 2016. This is a significant contribution to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Federation (October 15, 1956-October 15, 2016) by Bac Giang’s Youth Union and Youth Federation of the province to coordinate. With the support of flycam technology, the MV is appreciated with many beautiful scenes, elaborately and magnificent of the relic sites, scenic spots in the province. The MV was shared on Youtube and quickly spread, so far attracted more than 12.5 thousand views. Some scenes were filmed at Bo Da Pagoda, Van Ha ancient village (Viet Yen), the ancient and peaceful Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda or traditional craft villages are exploited and used by many authorities and units inside and outside the province as a representative image when introducing Bac Giang to Vietnam friends and foreign friends.
According to Pham Thi Thuy, Head of the Department of Education (Bac Giang’s Youth Union), with the orientation of exploiting the advantages of social networking, from 2017, the provincial Youth Union continues to launch the program "Colors of Bac Giang", the contest "Design of Introductory MVs and clips about history and culture" and held "When I'm 18" festival... This activity is suitable for the youth and becomes one of the criteria for the ranking of emulation points so many union members try to use their time, wisdom to select content, a form of expression when participating in these propaganda programs. For example, there are 11 clips of 10 districts, the city's and provincial authorities delegations participating in the program "When I'm 18" in 2017 organized by Provincial Youth Union.
The clip "Overview of Hoang Hoa Tham historical site" of Yen The high school was highly appreciated when detailed introduction about life, determination to fight the enemy of De Tham heroine, folk games at the traditional festival, relic exhibition area. Especially, the Youth Union of the Bac Giang High School for the Gifted has created a clip introducing the Xuong Giang Victory historical site in English.
In order to promote the effectiveness of tourism promotion activities, the provincial Youth Union directs each Youth Union members to continuously improve their knowledge and skills so that they can become active and creative propagators contributing to the attraction of tourists. While many localities organize festivals, local youth unions have actively participated in ensuring environmental hygiene, organizing booths introducing native products, consulting and supporting tourists when visiting and sightseeing in Bac Giang. The work of each member will contribute to create beautiful images, attract tourists back to Bac Giang in the near future.
