Bac Giang’s delegates offer incense to pay tribute to martyrs in Quang Tri province
In the morning, the delegates paid homage to martyrs at the Monument in the Ancient Citadel of Quang Tri, Uncle Ho’s temple and martyrs ‘altars, offered incense and dropped lanterns on Thach Han river.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai and other delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense to pay deep gratitude and tribute to the great sacrifices of martyrs who devoted their youth and life for the freedom and independence of the nation.
In the afternoon, Duong Van Thai and the delegation visited Truong Son National Cemetery and National Cemetery Road 9.
Truong Son National Cemetery is the resting place of more than 10,000 martyrs across the country, mainly the soldiers of Battalion 559, Truong Son army who sacrificed in the resistance war against American invaders.

Majority of the martyrs resting in the cemetery were from Northern provinces including 678 graves of the martyrs’ from Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, (421 martyrs).
The National Cemetery Road 9 is home to nearly 11,000 martyrs’ graves, who fought in Road 9 Battlefield and Laos during the resistance war against American colony to liberate the nation and sacrificed their life during the cause of constructing and protecting the nation.
There are 122 graves of the martyrs from Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces.

On the occasion of 75th anniversary of War Invalid and Martyrs’ Day of Vietnam, 2 northern provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh presented 12 billion VND (509,424 USD) to repair and upgrade the graves of the martyrs born in former Ha Bac (now Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces) in Truong Son National Cemetery and National Cemetery Road 9 with their great gratitude.
Up to present, the items have been completed contributing to nurturing the Vietnamese tradition “When you eat a fruit, think of the man who planted the tree” and “return one’s gratitude” while showing the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of 2 provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh to the heroic martyrs.
