Bac Giang’s economy achieves highest growth rate ever in 2022
In 2022, despite facing numerous difficulties, challenges and impact of Covid-19 pandemic, Bac Giang province has made good use of its potentials and advantages and grasped opportunities to make breakthroughs thanks to high consensus in leadership of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee in line with joint efforts by the people and business community.

17 out of 18 socio-economic targets are expected to be achieved and exceed the set plan. The province’s economy has kept its strong recovery amid difficult conditions. Particularly, the economic growth rate (GRDP) in 2022 is estimated at 19.8 percent, 2.5 times higher than the national percentage (8 percent), the highest rate ever.
The participants agreed with the targets in 2023; of which, the GRDP growth rate is expected at 14.5 percent, per capita income is targeted at 3,850 USD, state revenue is expected at 14.478 trillion VND (582.6 million USD) and the production value per 1 hectare of agricultural land is targeted at 135 to 140 million USD (5,432 to 5,633 USD).
Concluding the meeting, the provincial Chairman Le Anh Duong highly spoke on the efforts made by the levels and sectors in various fields. The image and position of the province have been heightened compared to the previous year. Bac Giang is a destination for many big investors.
However, there are still shortcomings apart from the gained results. He urged the departments, sectors and localities to promptly evaluate every socio-economic task for focused implementation and striving to reach and exceed the set targets.
Specially, they need to make clear evaluation on the situation while heightening the analysis and prediction capacity, mobilizing and effectively utilizing resources to boost socio-economic development.

In addition, it requires determination and consensus in the entire political system from the provincial to grassroots levels with close collaboration and integrity among the levels and sectors in implementation of the tasks.
The provincial Chairman stressed, the socio-economic panorama of the province in 2023 is predicted to face numerous difficulties. Particularly, the province will face the risk of decrease in economic growth due to shortage of orders for small enterprises and decline of real estate market with dropped prices. Thus, he requested the localities to anticipate difficulties in the coming year to implement measures for economic development.
Besides, it is necessary to closely supervise and control public investment to avoid debts in launching basic construction. The related departments and localities need to pay high attention to accelerate effective implementation of the national target programmes.
